What is EFT?

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. It is a set of potent tools that draw on various modalities of alternative medicine including acupuncture, energy psychology, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT). EFT or tapping, as it is commonly known, is a powerful, yet gentle way of working with and swiftly calming the central nervous system and the non-verbal parts of the brain that control fight or flight. According to Rob Nelson, Founder of Tapping the Matrix Academy, “It’s a fast and gentle way of discharging emotional distress, traumatic memories, negative thoughts… and many physical problems.” EFT has been scientifically-proven to decrease cortisol, reduce food cravings, bring relief and psychological first aid to post-disaster sufferers. “It’s been an authorized treatment for war veterans with PTSD”, and has also demonstrated “benefits as a treatment for anxiety, depression, physical pain, and insomnia.”  - Kiara Anthony

I love EFT/tapping because it can bring immediate relief to even complex issues and can also be used to develop new neural pathways (literally reshape your brain’s responses). Anyone can apply this self-help practice of using your own fingertips to gently tap on acupuncture points while focusing on the problem. Partnering with an EFT practitioner can provide useful guidance. Having someone present with you in a guided EFT session can unlock energy more quickly and efficiently.
